Start your Black Friday hair business plan with the lowest sale price your shop can accept. Take the price a customer pays, then subtract the hair cost and the costs of completing that order. What remains must help pay your shop’s running costs before you have a profit.
Once that minimum is clear, choose a few products and a stock quantity you can afford. These five steps keep those decisions connected.
Step 1 Add up the cost of one order
The supplier’s price is only the starting point. Write down what one item costs after its share of shipping to you and any applicable import charges. Then add packaging, the delivery cost you pay, payment fees, advertising per order and an allowance for returns. Count each cost once.
Keep rent, regular salaries and other fixed shop costs separate for now. You will check whether the sale leaves enough money to cover them in the next step.
Illustrative example
One item costs $55 to get into your shop. Other costs of completing the order total $10. The payment fee is 5% of the final selling price. All amounts are USD, exclude sales tax and are examples, not GreatHair prices or actual payment-provider rates.
Step 2 Set your minimum price before choosing a discount
Use those costs to compare a few possible prices. The last column shows what remains before rent, fixed salaries and other running costs.
| Discount from $100 | Customer pays | Left after order costs |
|---|---|---|
| No discount | $100.00 | $30.00 |
| 15% | $85.00 | $15.75 |
| 25% | $75.00 | $6.25 |
| 35% | $65.00 | −$3.25 |
At 35% off, the order loses $3.25 before it contributes anything to running the shop. At 25% off, the $6.25 remaining is positive, but it is not yet profit.
Suppose your planning target is to keep at least $15 per order toward running costs and profit. Set $85 as your working minimum in this example. That allows a 15% discount from $100. The $4.25 payment fee leaves $15.75 after the other $65 of order costs.
Choose your own target. Estimate how much your expected orders need to leave toward shop costs, then allow for the profit you want. If fewer orders arrive, those costs still need paying. A positive amount on each order does not guarantee a profitable month.
Step 3 Pick a few products and limit your first stock order
If you have no sales history, start with one product type and a small choice of lengths or colors. Our guide to choosing hair products for your business can help you narrow the range.
Set aside money for delivery, advertising and possible refunds before deciding your stock budget.
Illustrative starting budget
If $330 is available for stock and each item costs $55 delivered to you, you can buy six items. You might test two styles with three of each. This is a budget limit, not a prediction that all six will sell.
Track which versions receive paid orders. Likes and poll answers can suggest what to test, but they do not justify a large purchase. Reorder a proven item only when you can afford it and meet the promised delivery date.
Already selling? Start with the versions customers actually buy. Subtract stock that is already available and uncommitted before ordering more.
Step 4 Choose one clear offer and check delivery
For a first Black Friday hair extensions sale, consider a discount on a few selected products. It gives you fewer prices and stock quantities to check.
A matching product set can work if customers need both items. If a percentage discount leaves too little, compare it with a useful low-cost gift or free delivery above a minimum spend. Include the full cost of either offer before checking your minimum price. Limit free delivery to destinations your budget can cover.
Check the offer alongside any welcome code or existing discount. Use the final checkout total in your calculation.
Before advertising, confirm that the hair matches the listing and will be ready to dispatch on time. Use our Vietnamese human hair guide for unfamiliar labels and the sample testing checklist before a larger purchase. Allow time to inspect incoming stock.
If the timing is uncertain, keep the sale to inspected stock already available.
Step 5 Check what each sale actually leaves
At the end of each sale day, check the actual selling price, order costs and remaining stock. Higher advertising or delivery costs can erase the amount you expected to keep.
Adjust the offer or advertising spend when the numbers fall below your target. Pause promotion of an item if you cannot meet its delivery promise.
Once returns and final charges are known, compare the total money left with the shop costs it needs to cover. Use the result to plan the next stock order.
FAQs About Black Friday Hair Business Planning
Do I need to match a competitor’s discount
No. You do not know their costs or stock position. Use a discount your own numbers can support.
Can I discount something already on sale
Check the final price after both reductions. Keep it above the minimum you set for that product.
What if the supplier’s minimum order exceeds my budget
Ask about a smaller order or a narrower selection. Buying more than you can afford to hold makes the test harder to manage.
