How GreatHair Inspects Human Hair Bundles and Wigs

GreatHair inspects every human hair bundle and wig individually before it is cleared for packing. The check covers the raw hair grade, strand direction, length, weight, end fullness, weft or cap construction, color, texture, shedding behavior and final order details. Wigs receive additional checks for lace, knots, hairline, density, cap measurements, seams, combs and adjustable bands. A product passes only when it matches the buyer-approved specification and reference sample; if it does not, it is held for correction or replacement and checked again. This is how we reduce the batch-to-batch surprises that become refunds, bad reviews and lost repeat customers for hair businesses.

What GreatHair Checks at Each QC Station

Our quality control is built around measurable order details, not labels such as “best grade” or “luxury hair.” GreatHair uses more than four checkpoints and commits to 100% individual inspection rather than random sampling. That matters in a 5,000 m² factory with more than 200 workers and capacity of up to 5,000 kg per month.

QC station Person responsible Main tools Pass criteria Fail criteria
Raw hair intake Sorter and team leader Sorting table, tape, inspection light, grade tags Correct lot and grade, aligned direction, suitable strength and condition Dampness, chemical odor, reversed, weak, damaged or wrongly graded hair

Wig construction Wig maker and wig QC inspector Flexible tape, mannequin, inspection light, order sheet Correct cap and lace, even density, secure seams and attachments Torn lace, open seams, loose tracks, wrong fit, lace, density or hairline
Hair performance Finishing technician and QC inspector Standard brush, approved sample, swatch, neutral light Smooth handling, controlled shedding, consistent color and texture Snagging, excessive shedding, color bands, texture mismatch or buildup

How Does Raw Hair Pass the First Inspection

Raw hair passes only when it suits the ordered grade and can remain aligned through production. Our team sorts each hair set by length, thickness, color, condition and strand direction. Short, weak, damaged or reversed strands are removed early because finishing cannot turn poor raw material into reliable wholesale stock.

GreatHair’s production experience shows why this matters. From approximately 10 kg of collected raw hair, about 8 kg meets our export-grade requirements; roughly 2 kg is removed for length, strength, direction, texture or condition. Learn more about our Vietnamese hair source.

How Are Human Hair Bundles Inspected After Wefting

Each bundle is checked for construction, true length, weight, fullness and handling. Softness alone is not enough because heavy finishing can briefly disguise weak hair. The bundle must match the approved sample and behave predictably during installation and styling.

  • Weft security No open section, loose track or uneven seam.
  • Length and weight Measured against the approved SKU and agreed tolerance; curly or wavy hair is normally measured stretched.
  • End fullness Short-to-long strand distribution matches the selected single drawn, double drawn or super double drawn standard.
  • Comb behavior The same brush and number of passes are used when a shedding limit has been agreed.
  • Color and texture Compared with the approved swatch or gold sample under consistent lighting.

A few finishing strands are not the same as progressive shedding from a weak weft. Wholesale buyers need a repeatable, recorded test rather than a promise of “zero shedding.”

How Are Human Hair Wigs Inspected for Real Wear

A wig passes only when its hair and construction work together. For brands serving Black women and other women of color, lace shade, cap fit, density, hairline realism and texture behavior matter as much as softness. Our QC team examines both the outside and inside of the unit.

  • Confirm cap circumference, front-to-nape and ear-to-ear measurements.
  • Verify lace area, type and shade against the approved physical sample.
  • Inspect knots, bleaching, pre-plucking, parting space and hairline density.
  • Check tracks, seams, bands, straps and combs for secure attachment.
  • Review density at the crown, sides, nape and ends.
  • Reject lace tears, exposed tracks, uneven color, matting, snagging or excessive shedding.

Cap and lace tolerances are not universal; each brand must approve them by SKU. “Medium cap” or “transparent lace” can mean different things, so GreatHair recommends a paid sample and written specification before bulk production. See our guide to verifying a wig manufacturer.

What Happens When a Bundle or Wig Fails

A failed item is separated from approved stock and returned to the responsible station for correction or replacement. It must pass the relevant check again. The QC record should identify the order, SKU, issue and corrective action.

With more than 18 years in Vietnamese human hair manufacturing, we have learned that expensive quality problems often begin with small inconsistencies in length, fullness, lace, cap fit or color that were never measured and approved.

A Buyer Case That Changed the Specification

One anonymized case from GreatHair’s buyer research involved a brand sourcing natural-color lace-front wigs for different skin tones. The hair looked good on video, but the quotation did not connect lace shade, cap measurements, company identity and payment beneficiary in one document. Both sides said “transparent lace” but expected different results.

The buyer requested a live factory walkthrough, physical lace options, a paid sample, a written specification and a corrected invoice. The mismatch appeared before bulk production. QC cannot confirm an expectation that has never been defined. This is an anonymized composite of recurring buyer questions, not a named testimonial.

What QC Evidence Should a Wholesale Buyer Receive

Quality should be visible before cartons leave Vietnam. Depending on the order, GreatHair can provide production photos, close-up QC videos, measurements, packing images and a packing list. Ask the inspector to show the order code and measuring tool in one continuous shot.

The strongest approval package includes:

  • approved specification and reference sample;
  • close-ups of wefts, ends, lace, knots and cap interior;
  • length and weight checks for identifiable units;
  • color and texture comparison under consistent light;
  • finished quantity, packaging, carton labels and final approver.

Where to Buy Quality Vietnamese Hair

GreatHair supplies human hair bundles and wigs to salons, resellers, distributors and private-label brands. Buyers can customize hair, color, texture, lace, cap construction and branded packaging. We are a factory-direct B2B supplier, not a retail wig shop.

Start with a paid sample and approve it as the reference for future orders. Send your lengths, weights, textures, lace shades, cap measurements, density and packaging needs to the GreatHair wholesale team. You may also request current factory footage, a live walkthrough and pre-shipment QC evidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does GreatHair inspect every human hair bundle

Yes. GreatHair states that every product is individually brushed, measured, weighed and visually checked rather than approved through random sampling alone.

How does GreatHair check shedding and tangling

Inspectors comb or brush the hair consistently and look for snagging or excessive loose strands. For samples, buyers should agree on the tool, number of passes and acceptable result in writing.

How is the length of curly or wavy hair measured

The method must be stated in the order. Curly and wavy hair is commonly measured while gently stretched, then compared with the approved length tolerance.

What extra checks does a human hair wig receive

Wigs are checked for cap measurements, lace type and shade, knots, hairline, density, seams, tracks, combs, bands and overall fit as well as hair quality.

Can wholesale buyers receive real QC photos and videos

Yes. GreatHair offers production and QC images, video updates, packing proof and live factory calls for serious wholesale, OEM and private-label buyers.

Pre-publication fact check

Confirm the exact bundle weight and length tolerances for each current SKU, the internal job titles used at every QC station, the standard comb-test protocol, the corrective-action record used by the factory, and whether Alice Bonita or the GreatHair Quality Team will sign the article. Replace generic role names or buyer-approved tolerances only with values taken from the current QC SOP.
